Maternity mishmash

My in-laws have been kind enough to offer to pay for our nursery furnishings, which is incredibly sweet of them. They're at the age now where they should be getting to retire from the ratrace, but instead they still both work and help support my sister-in-law and her husband and their 2 kids... As far as I hear, a doula is next to useless. Better to seek out a midwife if you're very insistent on giving birth in your own home.

Oh no, we're not doing a home-birth. I'm just looking for moral support and relaxation/guidance while I'm doing a hospital birth - someone experienced who will be there the whole time, since nurses just pop in and out until it's time to deliver.

Although I am somewhat hesitant because if I end up getting a Caesarean, will all the doula stuff be for naught? They usually do some post-birth support too, but... eh.
