I'm listening to the Hamish and Andy podcast and I'm having an astounding bout of nostalgia - reminds me a lot of driving to tutoring and listening to their show.
There are a lot of things I know I'll miss when I leave here, and a lot of things I'm looking forward to when I come home... admittedly, things like this are even on the list!
I've just had a great weekend - I went to Tokyo yesterday afternoon to meet three of my friends (the beautiful Ez,
goddessofvenus2 and her delicate primrose =D) who had travelled down on Friday night. We went book shopping at Kinokuniya (Shinjuku), went out a bit to one of the (slightly) quieter suburbs for Mexican (first time I've had Mexican food since I came here, and it was awesome!) and we stayed at a hotel in a rather quiet neighbourhood (and were grossly overcharged for two hours at a local karaoke box). This morning we got up and headed to Harajuku (despite the dark clouds and constant drizzle) for breakfast at a restaurant recommended by a fellow JET - only to get there and see that the restaurant had temporarily closed! So we ate at a nearby family restaurant before catching a train for 45 minutes out of Shinjuku to CostCo. It was great fun to visit such a gigantic store and I saw some great stuff I've not really seen since I got here, as well as a heap of things in bulk. I was trying to restrain myself, so I went halves in a box of cookies and bagels with Ez, got a huge bow of Lipton teabags and a small box of brownies. Good fun!
I hope you're all well :)
