I am starting to use the 'tags' -ne and -kana at the end of a majority of my sentences. In both English and Japanese.
And I'm supposed to be the English teacher! =D
On my way home today I passed a group of kids practising men-seburi (head-level strikes in the air) in the front courtyard. They were on a break when I was about to pass them, and some of the kids I met today in class were there. Given that only a few hours earlier, I'd told them that I used to study kendo and that I want to start again soon, it's not so surprising that one of them offered me his shinai... which I accepted, did sonkyo, and did a neat set of ten double men-seburi.
I got oohs and aahhs and eeeeh!s, and it felt really, really good to have a shinai in my hands again.
I may have to ask my parents to ship my bogu over after all... looks like Jak will be heading back to kendo soon :)
