I just got back from the "Muse" concert at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago.
It was just... so. fucking. incredible.
Highlights:
1. Girl passing out behind me 15 minutes into the opening band.
2. The band walking on the stage, picking up their instruments, and immediatly playing "Map Of The Problematique" to open the set. (seriously, there was no delay, as soon as Matt put the guitar around his neck he struck the first note).
3. Mosh pit erupting next to me (I ended up being on the edge).
4. 3000 people singing/shouting "Together we're invincible!" (lyric, for those uneducated folks.)
5. Crowd clapping a fast beat, Dom (the drummer) waving for us to stop then (easily) matching our ridiculous pace for the next song.
6. TIRO!!! (Time Is Running Out, song)
7. Matt playing a guitar solo, on the fucking piano.
It was so enthralling that I can't remember the exact order of songs and what not, but my friend Nick recorded the whole thing and I will use it to remember more. I wish it never had ended.
