March into the Sea

Jul 09, 2007 16:34

This shouldn’t take too long; I spent most of my weekend passed out.

1. Bonfire of Doom
2. 7th Inning Stretch
3. Records & Zzzz
4. More than meets the eye
5. Let’s go Bucs!
6. Japan
7. The Beach

1. Friday Jeffy hosted the highly anticipated Bonfire of the Summer or as I called it, the Bonfire of Doom. A handful of us started the evening early with mildly delicious Chinese cuisine. Face it, that lil ‘ol lady totally had a crush on me. Adam and I with our endless artillery of fireworks blew up everything we could find, even my Boobah (R.I.P.). I drank about 4,000 Sparks and had more energy than I knew what to do with. This was my favorite bonfire ever, even if I don’t remember a good bit of it. In the morning we went to Eat ‘n Park, our waitress refused to pronounce her name correctly. I farted on Kurt Angle.

2. I got home Saturday sometime around 1pm and slept until 5pm. Then Scott and I went to the Pirate game. Unfortunately his Cubbies mauled the Pirates, 7-1. Whatever, FREE BEACH TOWEL! After the game we went up Urb’s and watched Beerfest with Moo and JB. I’m pretty sure that movie gets funnier and funnier with each watch.

When are we having a Beerfest?

3. I slept through a good portion of Sunday and when I finally woke up Scott, Moo, and I went to Brave New World to snag some records. I picked up Dillinger Escape Plan’s Miss Machine on 180-gram and Maladroit (keep your comments to yourself), from Weezer. Both records are out of print. We dug around a bit on eBay and I found out my copy of Greased the Less Than Jake cover album is one of only 300! Not too bad. We ate at Lulu’s - I had delicious Asian cuisine three times this week!

Moo and I hung out w/ Urb and JB for most of the evening. Jibbers helped me in Resident Evil 4, which is a fantastic game (my second favorite on the Wii).

I went home, watched one of those Planet Earth documentaries the BBC did while re-alphabetizing my records. Then I passed out whilst watching Curb Your Enthusiasm (my favorite show at the moment).

4. Earlier this week we saw the Transformers movie. Almost everyone I know hated it, but I thought it was a good movie. If you went into this film with any expectations you will be disappointed. It’s a Michael Bay film! I’m not a HUGE Transformers fan by any means, but I do enjoy them quite a bit and the certainly were a huge part of my childhood. The movie was corny at times, but for the most part it was worth my money.

5. The Pirates are playing really well. I want to go to some more games after the All-Star break -- I’ve only been to 3 this year. Anyone want to go?

I was just reading about that magical ’97 season in the Post-Gazette and it’s got me very excited for the second half of this season.

6. I’ve never had Japanese food. We should go sometime - no not GetGo Jeffy!

7. Before I forget, Yee / Heather - when would you like to go to the beach? This month? I look good almost every weekend, just need a bit of advance to tell work I’m taking Friday off.
