Sweet sweet Rhapsody

Once again I have to thank veryschway for introducing me to RealRhapsody.

So, I've been a huge Fleetwood Mac fan for at least ten years now. And yet I never owned a copy of their 1982 album Mirage. I can't believe how great it is. To be honest, I kind of expected it to be kind of dull and crappy, outside the singles that I already knew. I don't know why I had this preconception. It is nothing short of amazing, from start to finish. Here is the tracklist, for you interested pirates.

Mirage (1982)
Love in Store
Can't Go Back
That's Alright
Book of Love
Gypsy
Only Over You
Empire State
Straight Back
Hold Me
Oh Diane
Eyes of the World
Wish You Were Here

The first six tracks are perfect, and a new favorite of mine is "That's Alright." It has banjo and pedal steel (!), and of course Stevie never goes wrong with a country song, a la "After the Glitter Fades" from her solo debut the year before this FM album. The production is quite good, and the whole album is full of those Lindsey and Christine touches. Mmmmmmm. Lindsey seems to be obsessed with 50s rock and doowop here, and it works.
