Poll Which is the better name-smush?
In other news, I'm reading Never Let Me Go, and I'm really really really enjoying it, but with full knowledge that if I hadn't read that little page at the front of the book, with the publication year and the publisher and the Library of Congress filing categories printed on it, I would be enjoying the book SO MUCH MORE. I had some vague notion that somehow I'd heard that people in fandom or into genre stuff wouldn't think the book was as great or innovative as the average reader, so I was like, "Hmm, I wonder wh--OH, WELL THAT WOULD BE WHY." So a word of warning -- don't read about it, don't ask people about it, don't even read the back cover, just pick it up and dig into it. All I can console myself with now is, "I think I probably would have figured it out within the first page or two, anyway."
In other-other news, the only way I can think to talk about my emotional state right now in a way that's meaningful and succinct is to just say, "yeah, I'm taking the transfer to Stamford." PATHETIC, YET ACCURATE, YET PATHETIC.
