rsync
wow i learned something new today!
there's this nice program (since 1996 lol) called rsync that can be used to synchronize files. more of like a backup program thingy
the cute thing about it is that it has so MANY options with a very LONG man page (whew!)
of course it's console based and you can just schedule the command via the all-time favorite CRON
it just popped in my head that i need to have a nice back-up (synchronized) copy of my personal files to an external hard drive.
so it's like
# rsync -avru --delete --backup --backup-dir=/your/backup/dir/ --no-o /your/source/dir/ /your/dest/dir/
