And so, another year does that old phoenix trick of dying a last breath and then arising from the ashes, complete with fireworks display.
At about this time many people on their LJs choose to take stock of the previous year, to look back before they look forward so to speak. I'll admit, I do not feel particularly up to a detailed description of the previous year. Suffice to say, the last year has been one of extraordinary change and decidedly interesting times. I could not, in any way, have predicted where 2006 would take me on December 31st, 2005, and I get a sneaking suspicion that this year will have much the same in store. I expect to look back on December 31st, 2007, and realise that a year ago I had no clue what was coming up. With that said, January 1st, 2006 gave me a very clear indicator that changes were on the horizon, and while there are no obvious harbingers this time around, I feel that same waft of change on the horizon.
I can but hope that the changes that occur will have a far more positive timbre this year. I sense that my life is currently on a nice upswing, and I hope that that continues happily for a good part of the next year.
As for the New Years Eve 2006 report, there was much alcohol had, and many friends being good friends, as I think should be the tradition around a New Year's party. I spent the countdown among friends, and even sent New Year SMSes to
proxyryan, who delightfully SMSed back. I think that's all that really needs to be said, I think the salient points are covered.
Happy New Year, dear readers. May the next year make your world a better one.
