Feeling somewhat better

Jan 19, 2013 22:03

I've been spending the day around the twins, which is good for the soul and handling this depressing time. Everyone keeps telling me to stay for school and internship instead of going to services, but right now it looks like those might be held sometime Friday or Saturday, we'll be finding out soon, but if it is, I can totally just spend a weekend in San Fran or San Diego to do those. I spoke with internship person and teachers. I got this response from Reina, my Thursday night professor, "Don't feel any pressure to be active in class and please let us (any professors) know if you need anything. We are all in the helping industry so you might be swarmed with classmates trying to take burdens from you (you are free to use them if you want, I encourage it), but we're family at USC. We care and we'll support you through this rough patch of time. Besides, we're in the initial weeks, homework's not due till February so your good there." Angela, my field instructor said pretty much the same thing and that if I needed a day off for services, to take it. Actually, she added that I might just work a couple additional hours during Spring Break to make it up. Luckily, I'm not yet working directly with clients and Angela said it's better that it happened now than later in the semester where doing things would have been impossible. I guess I agree with everyone on that note. I think I'm handling this death much better than Harry's.

With Harry, he was more the bonding agent for a lot of members of our family. He was kind of the leader of a majority of it's members and we cared for him so much. Also, I think our family was more prepared with loss with the death of Harry and thus able to better cope with this passing. I don't know but I feel loads better than I did yesterday. Dor-chan has been supportive and I think I was somewhat ready for this and just had the initial pain of loss. Spending time with my cousins and talking about it Cathy and Dorie has helped a lot. Also, finding things to do to stay very busy has been very helpful, the twins are finally sleeping so I can type this and talk more to people. I think overall we're doing very well and all will slowly mend. Oh, and Dor-chan, I may have gotten Marvel Ultimate Alliance from Erik (Cathy's husband, not Jerri's boyfriend) if you want to play that too. It's got the Gauntlet feel with characters from Marvel Heroes, including Storm and Rogue. Lol. Erik's a gamer too. ^^.

That's about all for now. Sorry this one is so long but it feels good to write out emotions. Oh well. IT's done. I'm going to go have Hot Cocoa and see if I can't get a hang of Erik's football Xbox games. Ciao.
