That Princess Tutu AMV won an award at some convention (I think it was for Best Drama) and I know I was blown away when I first saw it. It's a great taste of PT for those who haven't seen it and the music works great for it as well.

But yes- Princess Tutu is awesome. It's one of those things that sounds kinda lame by it's title- but it's soooo awesome in reality.

You usually can't judge an anime by its title (or DVD cover) I've realized. I am glad to hear you liked the series it makes me more excited about watching it.

Cute icon XD

God, thanks for linking to this AMV! I've watched it once before but then I forgot the song's title and couldn't find it anywhere. I don't think I'm going to watch the anime but it's certainly one of the best AMVs I've ever seen. The movement-sound synchronisation is amazing ♥

If you want to download the AMV here is the link. And yeah I love the song they used. I sort of want to download just the song.

I've decided to push Princess Tutu ahead of the last few volumes of Nadia. I really want to see it now.

But Nadia is a really cute series. The side characters are especially fun.

How very odd that they put a Swedish song under that video...

Congrats for the Philly job! When are you going to Japan? What are you gonna do there?
You should write about yourself more often for us "normalos" :P

It's not so odd. It's a fan made music video not associated with the actual anime. I looked up the person's profile and she is from Italy. I thought the song really fit the images of the video. :)

You mean for the less cool people. XD

Honestly I didn't make this journal to talk about personal stuff I made it to talk about fandom stuff. Occasionally I'll post about RL when something big happens in my life. But otherwise I don't like talking about RL. Besides only you and one other person aren't anime fans on my FL. :P

As for Japan I am going next Friday for vacation to Tokyo and Kyoto.

I know, I know :( I just wished I knew what was going on sometimes...

But what I just noticed: The girl right in your icon totally looks like you would if you were asian :O

Have fun in Japan. But come back to the real world :P

LOL thanks. I will be posting my pictures here when I get back.

And don't get me wrong It's not that I am trying to escape from real life my real life is perfectly fine most of the time I just don't like posting about mundane things on my Live Journal. XD

But I am glad you are concerned. :)

I would never have checked out Princess Tutu based on title or a summary of the series. It sounds like Sailor Moon with ballet, but it's nothing of the sort. That vid is amazing. It actually won best overall and best action at a convention. How cool that a video about ballerinas won best action? But the editing just made it work so well.

Princess Tutu starts out in the first few episodes as cute and entertaining but not spectacular. I've known a couple people who aren't mahou shoujo fans that have put it down after about episode three. Don't. Keep watching and by around episode six, it really kicks into gear. It just gets better from then on and the finale is outstanding. Princess Tutu is probably my favorite anime and I don't even generally like mahou shoujo.

Thanks for the recommendation. I moved the series up to the top of my netflix queue so I should be getting the first two DVDs of the series shortly.

Everyone's comments makes me want to see the series even more. And I've only heard positive things about it. :)
