Revisiting 4 Kids One Piece
I've been in a One Piece mood lately (probably because I put a bunch of the character songs back on my IPOD) and I was revisiting some old AMV's and then for old time sake I looked at some of the 4-Kids edit.
Now at one time the butchery of what 4-Kids did to One Piece was too painful for me. But now that Funimation has the rights of the series it's thankfully a distant memory so I can look back and laugh at everything
Now I knew about most of the inane changes: horrible accents, changing guns to water pistols, cigarettes to lollipops, changing characters names for no reason, changing death to people being put in jail, changing Onigiri to cookies (because god forbid children learn about food from different cultures), etc, etc, etc.
But this edit I saw today I don't even understand. Why would they get rid of Luffy's adorable smile. What the hell was wrong with these people?
What the hell was the point?
And of course revisiting 4-Kids One Piece, here is one of my favorite AMV's XD (no special effects needed)
And off the 4-Kids train here is another One Piece AMV which I just discovered and really love. Admittedly I think this song is a bit overused in AMV's but the ending of this AMV is just perfect. ♥
