Yeah, I would have liked to see Thoma all grown-up. :( He just ended up in the background at the very end....though the moment between him and Helga in the Interval satisfied me enough even though they don't get together. I like to think that they (Thoma, Helga, and Chitto) at least remain friends for the rest of their lives. I'm happy as long as Thoma has friends

You know thinking about it, Helga never really gave any indication that she loved Thoma as more than a very dear friend. It was mainly Thoma who appeared attracted to Helga sort of like Sesu and Tina's relationship. But ending with only Helga/reincarnated Soran made it seem that their love story was the main point of the plot and I just didn't see this. If anything "fantastic children" meant to me Helga, Thoma and the Belfort Children since they all were connected in some way

Yeah, it was pretty much one-sided. I still had hopes that Helga would grow to love Thoma someday though. .__. The show had a strong theme of learning to let go of the past and to live the life you have now (Hiisuma was unable to do this and that was his downfall), but I guess True Love is the exception.

Me too. Soran was essential to Helga and Thoma's story but he wasn't exactly a major character himself, so we didn't get to know him as well as the others.
I think part of the problem is it was prelicensed so it was fansubbed underground and to top it off Bandai took an extremely long time releasing it so this hurt the shows popularity. That's exactly the reason why I didn't get to see it until now. D: If I could, I would have watched it two years ago. On top of that, Bandai hasn't been advertising it very well. So yeah, I guess I'll advertise on ZOMGFTA since I have a greater chance of reaching

OMFG. Just when I created the community, I found another one: http://community.livejournal.com/girishia/profile Dude, how are we supposed to know this exists if you don't even have "fantastic children" in the interests?! >.<
