His Dark Materials Trilogy~ The Golden Compass/Northern Lights
I just found out the first book is being made into a movie. Oh my god I am so excited. I've read this series in 2005 and I thought it was absolutely excellent. Where too many fantasy stories copy off of Tolkien, the Dark Materials Trilogy is very original and it has an awesome lead female character to boot.
Nicole Kidman and Daniel Craig are playing Ms. Coulter and Lord Asriel and an unknown is playing Lyra. I haven't seen Daniel Craig in much of anything but his look fits Lord Asriel to me and Nicole Kidman is just perfect for Coulter in my opinion.
Ah this sort of makes up for them making a movie out of that awful hackneyed Eragon. My faith has been restored in humanity. XD
Now here's hoping that the first movie will be well done so they will make movies for the next two books as well.
