Facebook & Twitter~IMPORTANT

Sep 01, 2010 20:10

Okay I am really confused about this whole Facebook/Twitter nonsense. I didn't realize people can post comments from other people's journals on there. I have a request (and you probably have seen this from other people on your FL). Please Don't!

I don't want this journal to appear in any shape or form on Twitter & especially not Facebook. And ( Read more... )

I really hope this won't last long. There's over 5000 complaints about this in the News post, so LJ should really get an opt out option soon.

That's what it is??? Okay. Even more annoying and creeper.

I thought it was just cross-posting your own comments. I'm kinda glad I'm just a lurker on LJ now and not post hardly any comments anymore... augh.

I think it is cross posting your own journal but then I am assuming it might link to the original entry (and I guess if it is locked people won't be able to get in unless they are on your FL) But either way people will see there is an entry and I don't like that.

It's one thing if you want to post your own post to facebook or twitter but comments seems an invasion of privacy in my opinion.

I'm kind of confused and hoping this is all some kind of Giant Misunderstanding, and LJ will be all "YOU GUYS THAT'S NOT HOW IT WORKS" in a few hours, but - no, at the bottom of the comment box right now is options for me to repost to Twitter and Facebook. I think it's just comment that I could repost, and not your post, and I think you can protect your post from being Facebook'd, but I really think they should add a journal-wide "Do Not Do This Facebook Thing" option.

Yeah I am sort of confused about all this too and maybe I am misinterpreting things wrong but it seems LJ has pissed off/scared a lot of people so you are right they either need to Fix it or explain what the deal is.

And seriously does everything need to be on FB? :(

I assume if the post isn't locked it will link to the original post and people can get in. If it is locked than it will link to the post but people can't get in. But I am not entirely sure and yeah the whole thing is really confusing & messed up.

This is not how you introduce a new feature. :(
