So six episodes in and I am still not sure what I feel about this series. I guess the mystery is intriguing (although part of me still worries it will just be a huge let down) and I find the male character likable enough but the female character still annoys me. Actually the female characters in general annoy me in this series because they all feel so stereotypical to me. Either sweet and somewhat childish or sexy vixens. Maybe they are more than these stereotypes but so far I have not seen it. And these are all supposed to be women who just finished university or older so I find it to be an even bigger issue.
So it's not that this series is bad per say it is entertaining to a degree I guess but what is it doing on my favorite Noitamina time slot? Even if I didn't care for a Noitamina show in the past at least I felt it fit that time slot. Except for maybe Library Wars. But what annoys me is they said they were trying to capture the Noitamina audience and the Otaku audience with this series and so far all I see is the Otaku audience. Although I think the series is doing good rating wise.
Now Cross Game on the other hand keeps getting better and better. It's not necessarily realistic either but it has interesting male and female characters and it has this very whimsical slice of life aura to it. It's not that I remember my childhood in this way but it still makes me nostalgic for that time or just nostalgic for a simpler time.
