And so it ends :________________:
To tell you the truth I am not sure if I am 100% satisfied because I do think things were rushed in the end but this is still one of my absolute favorite shows of 2007. I would say favorite but I have to reflect on all the shows I like a little more since I love them all for different reasons. It was just a very good year. It seems to be ending on a rut but overall 2007 was fantastic.
While I keep saying the show reminds me of Ghibli (or what Ghibli would do if they made a TV show) someone on Anime-Suki posted this article which states the same thing (although I admit I feel this is more true for the 1st half of the series) but it's not just in my mind because several of the animators/character designers of Dennou Coil also worked on various Ghibli films.
http://www.ghibliworld.com/news.html#2711 Alright I did love the Isako/Yasako moments. I admit they were a little cheesy but I don't really care because it was what I was waiting for. When they woke up in the hospital room so close OMG my heart. I am really big friendshipper, and friendship is always overshadowed by romance. So I love that it was the opposite in this series. Although I was a little disappointed that Isako and Yasako don't stay together in the end. I mean part of me agrees that this fits Isako's character much better but another part of me says screw it I wanted to see them both in their school uniforms walking side by side. So I was disappointed but I'll probably think about it more and realize it was for the best.
What Else I loved about the Episode
* Yasako meeting Densuke again and being saved by him (I cried at this scene and the Isako/Yasako scene)
* Yasako waking up and Haraken's reaction
* The School Uniforms (but yeah where was Haraken?)
*Daichi and Fumie walking together in the end
* Kyoko going to school Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
* Kyoko and Yasako seeing a real dog that looked like Densuke. I thought that was the perfect touch (along with the cherry blossoms but all anime series do that in the end).
* I also really liked that Isako's brother was dead all along and what she saw was a simulation to help her heal. I guess finally I was happy with this whole explanation and how things accidentally got messed up by Yasako. Plus this added a little complexity to a child's tale.
* I also liked that Isako's pigtails went away as a representation that she was finally able to let go of her brother.
I wish a RAW would come out so I could screencap Isako with her hair down and flowing and the Isako/Yasako hospital scene.
EDIT: Good News! I was rereading that AOD thread on the Gurren Lagann DVD Cover and that was not the final cover. They will be using the original R2 Cover Designs. I am so relieved. :D
Edit 2: Also from what I've seen ADV releases art boxes with the 2nd volume. Not sure if that will be the case with GL or not.
