Since it seems like things on the Enterprise have gotten much worse, I've decided to send a quick notice off to Starfleet Command and the Starfleet Corp of Engineers. Captain Janeway cannot, and it seems like I'm the only commander who is on the livejournal, besides the Enterprise ( Read more... )

if anyone could handle the weirdness, surely the flagship of the Federation could

I must say, it's a new experience watching this sort of thing happen to *someone else's* ship for a change...

I would say I was fortunate that the last few years have just been constant war, and not mind-swapping aliens... but then I realized that for all intents, that's what the Pah-wraiths look like.

Ah well. At least it doesn't seem like it wants the universe to be engulfed in eternal flame.

I think perhaps eternal flame would be better than the jokes it's telling.

I think the priority values there are a little skewed, Q. Were I to be forced to choose between eternal damnation via flames, or via bad jokes, I'd probably go with bad jokes.

Obviously we have different priorities. qcontinuum August 19 2003, 02:13:30 UTC
Of course I live amongst a people whose idea of eternal damnation *is* bad jokes. Such as watching you wear a really horrible outfit.

Flames, on the other hand, are toasty and comfy. Well, if you're an entity of pure energy, anyway. I mean, we kick back and relax by going swimming in the heart of stars, so flames? Not really something that frightens me. Whereas bad jokes, like bad fashion, should horrify all sentient creatures.

I'm afraid I must humbly agree with Q on his opinion of your uniform, Kira. Your Bajoran uniform suited you much better. Then again, I've never liked the supposed 'style' of Federation uniforms. In fact, I think I much preferred the older style with solid colors instead of grey...

Actually, I wear the Bajoran uniform every day. But since the LJ system is mostly made up of Starfleet officers, I make an attempt to try and fit in by using a picture of me in their uniform.

For the record, though, I do prefer the Starfleet uniform. It's not as snug, and easier to get out of for bathroom breaks.

Well, from what I've seen, and no offense to the tailors and designers, Starfleet made some pretty dark and gloomy uniforms.

I'm glad all of us aboard Voyager decided to keep the old(er) uniforms. I reckon we look friendlier wearing more colourful clothes. Not as colourful as the older uniforms from around '69, compared to those, our uniforms help us not stand out like targets for dummy practice. almost

But new uniforms which are so dark only your vest has a colour besides black or grey? Bleh!
::grimaces::

And I hear the new dress uniforms are bright white? What has Starfleet been feeding the tailors and designers?
