Sam walked into the bunker’s kitchen, a big heart-shaped box in hand. He had been looking all morning for Eileen. Sam hurried over to her. He tapped her lightly on the shoulder, getting her attention. Tucking the heart-shaped box under his arm, he awkwardly signed, “Happy Valentine’s Day, Eileen.”
She smiled at him. “Happy Valentine’s Day to you too, Sam,” she signed.
Sam felt his cheeks heating up. “Thanks. Here,” he signed, handing her the heart-shaped box.
Eileen took it, signing her thanks. “They’re my favorite,” she said softly.
“I know…” He leaned forward, meeting her halfway for a kiss.
