Yay! More opera on my friendslist :-) If nothing else it's an excuse to use my opera userpics. I guess Der Rosenkavalier is kind of suitable (even if it is more of a grumpy icon.)

I reallly meant Susan Graham You fangirl people. :-P I'll keep sticking to "the more the merrier" for all my fandoms. There are way to many mezzos around to only stick to one.

So I'm noticing actually. I think I have just imprinted on Susan ;) I kinda like Sara Conolly and this other Greek one whose name has totally escaped me....

But yeah, I hate to say I'm probably gonna be one of those really annoying opera fans that doesn't know enough about music to have anything to say other than "PRETTY!" and take it from a slightly more theatrical approach.

I guess it really is incorrect to say that I am entering the opera fandom. It's more that I'm gonna be following opera much more now that I have easy access to the MET and am close to the DC opera house.

I started with Anne Sofie von Otter so it took quite a while for me to expand to more dramatic voices. But living in Stockholm I couldn't be that picky about things. I did go to pretty much everything in the beginning and at that time it was dirt cheap up in the nosebleed seats (significantly less than going to the movies.)
