Summary: This video contains three music videos from her album Is Tiara, Suddenly, 雨上がりの星空, and きくら. It also contains a photoshoot, making of 雨上がりの星空 and two videos of Maki recording something.
I won this off of Yahoo Japan for fairly cheap. I really love Maki and I was interested in her First I's collection. In general I liked this in a ... I really love to stare at Maki sort of way. There really no other way to like it. Maki has a beautiful voice, but the songs are kinda dull as are the videos. Its what you would expect a late 90s video would look like for an easy listening artist. Yet, there are some extremely cute moments and lots of femmy Maki.
Suddenly
A photoshoot preceded this video and it was really wonderful to see. Maki is really, really beautiful and she photographs really well too. Plus there were lots of spaghetti strap dresses :)
The video itself was boring. The song was kinda putting me to sleep. Maki was hardly shown in the video singing, mostly posing. Yet, there were several shots that make me happy. The camera man really liked to focus on her lips, neck and shoulders. Smart man. Also there was a brief shot of wet Maki, ngh. Otherwise ... bleh.
雨上がりの星空
Before this video there was a clip of Maki recording some dialouge. I really don't know what it was for. But it went into a making of the next video. This was fun. Seeing Maki run around with a dog is the absolutely cutest thing. Also I approved of her wardrobe and background shots for this one. And I really liked Maki running around with a dog.
I actually liked this video. You got to see Maki a lot more. The song was fairly good too and there were button up shirts, scarves, boots, and suits. Also Maki looked like she was having fun in this video.
きくら
Preceding this video was another clip of Maki recording dialouge. Once again I know not what she was saying or why.
This video... was REALLY weird. The director must have fancied himself an artist, or was on acid. It was a oriental themed video that at times really didn't flatter Maki. Of course I enjoyed Asian Beauty!Maki. She wore a kimono ...loosely and had red lips and long black hair, ngh. Oh and she wore a blue cheongsam with a rose in her hair, ngh. Oh but you hardly got to get a proper look at them. The camera was all OVER the place and had werid colouring and angles ... and the song itself was weird. Also the shots of maki were very brief.
I would make a clip, but I lack the capacity to capture from VHS. Maybe I'll take pictures of the screen later.
In conclusion I would only recommend this video to someone that really likes to stare at Maki. :) And if you do I will actually be selling a copy of this soon. I will have an extra copy. Yes, I won that auction with three Maki VHS for 350 yen ^__^
