So, taking a break from the story, "Scrapbook", I've decided to spam you guys' friend pages with a memory. I don't know why it's important, or even if it's important. All I know is it's been stuck in my head all day.
-------------
In second grade, I went to the elementary school closest to my home, but my daycare center was on the opposite side of town, so there was no bus to take me there. In the end, I had to take the "Special Ed" bus, because they had so few kids that an extra stop was possible for them. There were two other kids on that bus. One of them had some sort of mental or psychological issue, and the other was just allergic to everything under the sun. I became close friends with the second.
Anyhow, most of that is irrelevant.
The memory is this: I don't remember when or why, but one day after school, I took it into my head to start doubling. I started with one, obviously, and just kept doubling and doubling, seeing as high as I could go. I wrote out the numbers with my finger on the seat in front of me when the numbers got too high, but I just kept doubling. I didn't know multiplication at that point, so it was all addition. I guess that made it take longer. And I suppose I must have been doubling aloud, because at some point, the bus supervisor told me to shut up. I remember being fairly annoyed about that, but I kept at it.
When I got to my babysitter's, I continued to double, although slower than before. I think I was showing off to a friend there. I don't remember why or when I finally stopped, but I got somewhere in the millions. That's how I spent my afternoon that day - doubling.
