holiday joy

The holiday joy just kept going and going...it was great!

We started on Yule with some friends, and ended up staying up until dawn. On the 22nd, we did roomie stockings at the apartment. On the 23rd we did a gift exchange with Leon, his gf, and her daughter. We gave Leon his Big Present then: we banded together with his friends to buy him a professional digital artist tablet. He was blown away, and all of us feel quite happy about it.

On the 24th, my sweetie and I went to mass. On the 25th we spent the day with his family. I got a good half hour of calm snuggling with my baby nephew, which might have been my favorite gift. But I got some neat stuff, too, including a shirt from my mother-in-law that made me laugh aloud. It says, "As soon as I finish this chapter..." which is pretty much something that I say multiple times a week. And rainbow toe socks. I love toe socks.

On the 25th we went to visit my parents at the farm, even though my sister was up there with a stomach bug. (We just avoided her and washed our hands a lot.) My mom got me the knife sharpener I'd been secretly hoping for (way to be psychic, Mama), and my dad got me the Sim Societies game (which is pretty fun). I got a bunch of other neat stuff, too. And then, my mom confessed that she wanted to get me a stock pot but hadn't known what kind to get, so we went shopping in Georgetown and she bought me the perfect one! And a saucepan, too!

On the 26th I had lunch with a witch friend and then my sweetie and I just flumped. I played my new game; we watched some season one ST:TNG (my big gift to him); I read some of Kushiel's Justice. I needed the respite. Today will also be low key. We're going to take my friend's 7yr old to the farm to visit the horses and then go to a friend's house to do laundry and hang out.

I'm almost sorry it's all over. Oh, but wait! We still have First Night!
