I'm writing a KiraHina ship manifesto and I'm nearly done, but the fan section is...well, kind of empty, save for a few links. So I ask you, fellow shippers, why do you like KiraHina? Is there any particular moment that defined it for you? Go all out, bbs, I want to hear the whole story. ♥

For me, I think one of the most appealing aspects of a Izuru and Momo romance is that it is a relationship of equals who understand each other. They were friends in their academy days and they know each others strengths and weaknesses. They both know what the other is capable of and respect each other. They also have the similar experiences of being betrayed by captains they trusted and respected. The fact that they were both so easily deceived, I think, points to similar innocent and idealistic personalities that believe the strong should protect the weak.

I think the equality and mutual understanding in their relationship stands in contrast to other relationships. Even though I admit that I like the Aizen/Momo pairing and find it sexy, I know that they won't be able to have a happy ending together. Her blind devotion and reverence for him means they will never be equals in a relationship. I have written two long Aizen/Momo fanfictions; in one of them she ultimately winds up happily married to Izuru, and in the other it requires Aizen being turned into a child and getting his personality reset for things to work.

The Hitsugaya/Momo pairing is one that I absolutely detest, because they seem too much like siblings and because his condescending treatment of her drives me crazy. They can never be equals because he sees her as helpless and someone who needs to be sheltered all the time. He seems to have little respect for her skills as a shinigami. Likewise, she just sees him as a little kid, like a brother. There is affection but little deep understanding. His lieutenant seems to understand him better than Momo does (not that I ship that either).

I truly believe that Izuru is the character that understands Momo best and vice-versa. Their best chance for long-term happiness in a relationship is with each other.
