So it's a beautiful day out and I just finished making chocolate chip cookies with the door open and a tiny shirt under my apron. It felt surprizingly good to be domestic for a while. That and I make pretty good cookies if I do say so myself. I'm listening to a song
Gali-chan sent me called "Penitent" by Suzanne Vega. I think I need more music by this woman, as this is a really good song. The lyrics are wonderful, and the guitar work is very... calm. The whole song is sort of like Conjure One, if you've heard of them.
Anyway, she sent it because we're RPing Bleach crack and she thought the song fit Senbonzakura rather well. I have to say that I think she's right. This, of course, reflects on what I believe Sen-chan to be like as per my ByaRen series
"Between the Earth and Sky". For anyone who cares, I do intend to release the ByaSen RP (yes, ByaSen) on my
website and
sword_slash. I believe Gali is releasing our ByaRen RPs on her
writing archive.
Once I stood alone so proud
held myself above the crowd
now i am low on the ground.
From here i look around to see
what avenues belong to me
I can't tell what ive found.
Now what would You have me do
i ask you please?
I wait to hear.
The mother, and the matador,
the mystic, all were here before,
like me, to stare You down.
You appear without a face,
disappear, but leave your trace,
i feel your unseen frown.
Now what would you have me do
I ask you please?
i wait to hear
your voice,
the word,
you say.
i wait to see your sign
would i
obey?
I look for you in heathered moor,
the desert, and the ocean floor
how low does one heart go.
looking for your fingerprints
i find them in coincidence,
and make my faith to grow.
Forgive me all my blindnesses
my weakness and unkindnesses
as yet unbending still.
struggling so hard to see
my fist against eternity
and will you break my will?
Now what would you have me do
i ask you please?
i wait to hear
your voice,
the word
you say
i wait
to see your sign
could i
obey?
So what's happened over the course of the last week or so? Well, the extremely good news is that the head of the Geek Squad at our local Best Buy wants me to work for him. Seriously. This is a great story. I'll spare you all the nerdspeak, but essentially what happened was I was at the mall with my mother and her friend. (For those of you who don't know, my mother does NOT like to shop, so this was an accomplishment.) Anyway she and Becca wanted to go to Old Navy and look at cheap stuffs... I don't like Old Navy, but there's a Best Buy right next door so I was all "have fun, I'm going to nerdom." I wandered over to the computer section to ask someone if they still had a trade up policy for laptops. Yeah, I have no job, but I can at least get a figure to aim for in terms of updating my computer, eh? XD
So I started talking with this guy about all the technical aspects of what I've been putting my trooper of a laptop through. (Video Editting, Gaming, 7 programs open at once, imaging, etc, etc... basically just killing the poor thing.) He suggested some upgrades that I've already done and I lamented about it, asked about the trade up policy - they don't have it anymore! Bummed, I said I should probably just wait to upgrade to a desktop. He got kind of excited and ran around to their setups, showing me some of the newer stuff. (Nerd moment: Did anyone else know AMD has a 2000Mhz FSB? DAMN) He was impressed when I started asking some slightly more technical questions about the hardware and commented that, and I quote, "for a girl, you know a lot about computers". Okay, now, NORMALLY if someone said that I would have gotten snarky and been all "fuck off" etc... However, the way he said it wasn't derogatory - he was genuinely and (here's the important part) pleasantly surprized.
Long story short, he revealed that he's becoming the manager for the Geek Squad there and really wants a woman on the team. Not only that, but after speaking with me, he flat out told me that I'd be good at it, gave me his card and told me to call him in two to three weeks for a job. Seriously. Hot stuff. ^_^ First time anyone in the industry who's not my mom has told me that I'd be good at something like that. So. YAY.

Also, my
website is up!! Liminal Augury, of course, and while it's still under construction, I really, really like the layout. Gali-chan ROCKS.
Still working on my warlock on Kel'Thuzad. We got some new hardware so the server doesn't crash anymore (yay!) but I've hit a stumbling block at 40 in the form of no groups and never having played alliance before I'm not nearly as efficient in levelling as I should be. Hopefully I'll get to at LEAST 50 before I get a job/need to check out Virginia with my mom.
Lastly. I have found a new anime to obsess over: Fate/Stay Night! Now wait, you may say, isn't that an ero-game from Japan? Why yes, yes it was. It is also an AMAZING anime. I like the characters. All of them. Even the females. Let me repeat that. EVEN THE FEMALE CHARACTERS. I haven't liked a female character since... er... well, I liked Yoruichi >.o but not like Lina Inverse kind of "this character is total LUFF". So. Yeah. WATCH IT.
