I feel bad for not posting anything lately, but I would feel worse posting about how boring life is being right now (which is what I'm doing right now, so fine, I am a hypocrite). But even though life is kind of routine, it still makes me happy. Even though my job is nowhere near full-time and gives me no benefits, I still like the courthouse work he's giving me (although the drive to Perry? Not fun). I am slowly but surely slogging my way through Sophie's Choice. I don't actually know what the choice is, although I have a vague recollection of something to do with choosing between children. That is the only thing keeping me going at this point. It really is excellent writing, but instead of being one compelling story, it is about eighty-seven compelling stories. In non-chronological order. And half of them are prefaced by the narrator saying "well, now I know that this story Sophie told me was a bunch of lies, but I am going to reiterate it anyway." Ack. So even if it is about five hundred pages too long, I am determined to finish it (and then probably force Sean to watch the movie). I don't understand how I can get through a nine-hundred-page Harry Potter book in eight hours or so, but this six hundred page book is throwing up roadblocks wherever I turn.

So in movie and other life news, Sean is being rather awesome lately. We did have our every-six-months-bad-fight last week, but it blew over in twelve hours, so that was nothing. He has stopped moaning about my obviously sexist movie picks (I TRIED to be better this week, but they didn't have the old "Sleuth" with Laurence Olivier at the video stores by us, so I was forced to choose "Notes on a Scandal" which, admittedly, I know he will hate). This "swapping picks" thing has really recharged our relationship, which is a bit intellectually embarrassing. I haven't even complained much that he wants to go see that spoof sports movie that comes out on Friday (ACK). And this weekend is our MOUNTAIN TRIP! We have a hot tub in our hotel room, we will see waterfalls, and I am excited. It is also our five-year anniversary, which is a hell of a long time, but luckily he is continuously awesome.

In random news, I haven't been in my bathroom in three days because there is a big roach in it and I am too scared to kill it. Tomorrow I will have to suck it up, because Sean and I are going to dinner and I can't pull off another no-makeup day (much less another not-shaving-legs day). I managed to yank my contacts out (while squealing a lot when I thought things moved), but everything else is held hostage by the killer roach from hell. I am CONVINCED it will jump on me as soon as I open the door, but I really need my makeup remover. And a shower. Also, I will never beat Sean at ping pong (although we both kick complete ass at this point), at tennis, or twice in a row at bowling. Or at Wordthief, or Trivial Pursuit. This is a very important cause of my attraction to him. But I did win a game of "Trouble" last night, which was exciting (yes, this is what passes for excitement now). Also I won a sixteen-book auction on ebay, which will add to my poverty. And I bought a new lipstick today in "Sunset Red"... and God does not want me to cut my hair. That is all.
