as the subject line suggests, this is only appealing to other players mostly. But it includes my trip to the super hidden Shatterspear Village.
Not a lot of people know about Shatterspear, it's tucked away between Moonglade, Mount Hyjal, and Darkshore, and there's no real way to get there. It's a tribe of Horde-friendly trolls (meaning if you're Alliance, they will fight you and I think they may have some sucky drops), but there's no real purpose for their existence, since it seems Blizzard has long forgotten about them. Anyway, they seem to be perpetually celebrating something, as most of the trolls in the main area are having some kind of party.
I do some dancing with them.
The "entrance" to Shatterspear. You can only get there by falling off various waterfalls and hills.
Me posing with what I think are the village leaders.
Their names. The main guy's name makes me think of the word "Chronic".
Their little hut (or inn, since it uses the same models as the trollian (trollish?) inns).
Yes, it is fishable, unlike what I've heard about the Well of Eternity on Mount Hyjal.
Mount Hyjal in the background
So the village is pretty much inside a crater-ish area in the middle of the mountain range. If you went over those hills you'd probably fall for five minutes before landing in Darkshore.
A small little temple there. It's just a few stone tablets sitting around.
That's all for Shatterspear, here's some miscellaneous ones.
Auberdine effed up for me for a while and wouldn't load right. You can see
lacus and
recession's characters on the party list.
Saviour of Brill.
ATTACK OF THE GIANT GNOMES FROM THE SEA
Dancing with an Orc in Thunder Bluff
IT'S A FISH-OFF, YO
Pretty shot of Grom'gol.
The real entrance to Mount Hyjal, indefinitely blocked by this gate. :( I tried all night last night trying to use one of the terrain exploits to get in, but Blizzard seems to have thought of everything now.
But at least you can see Hyjal from Winterspring, Felwood, or Moonglade. This is from Winterspring.
What my badass Hunter looked like for a while.
Newman's Landing. It's a random building in the non-scalable eastern coast of the Eastern Kingdoms, but it serves a very minor purpose. When a player creates an Alliance character, they are born into the world here for a brief milisecond before they're taken to their respective starting areas and watch their race's intro video. Apparently there's a spot here where you can see new level one characters appearing and disappearing really fast, but I didn't stick around very long to see any. I'm sure it was a crazy place to hang out the night Burning Crusade was released, new characters popping up every second.
Sleeping with a dead Night Elf on top of me. And yes, I killed him. Night Elves are pretty much kill-on-site for me.
Stormwind??? Yes. Cities are like small instances, as they are a separate from the rest of the world for some reason. Everything is normal if you step inside of it, but if you come at it from a different direction, all you see are shadows of buildings for the most part. I know Orgrimmar is the same way.
It's time we had a talk...
This was taken on the eastern coast of the EK as well. Either a giant was hungry or a meteor struck it.
I came across people trying to raid Undercity, and while I thought they would get their asses kicked because it looked like there were so few of them...
...I quickly realized they had a lot of friends with them. They still didn't make it to Sylvanas.
Hobo Mage is watching you.
KA..ME....HA....ME....
Here's Zul'aman. It's in Ghostlands, it looks like some kind of raid/instance, and it's also very closed.
Too bad I'm a Mage and I can just Blink my way through the door.
The inside is simple and small, no monsters or anything. A lot of the usual Troll accessories like skulls and spears.
It's obviously not finished. I was really tempted to jump, and I almost did, but I chickened out because I didn't want to lose my character in an empty void. Although I think if I went straight down there would've been water. I think.
Yeah, that's right bitches. My Mage can own your silly barriers. This would be the future meeting stone for this instance/raid.
...and that is that.
