Sunday fun

Sunny funny days. I managed to haul my ass out of bed today to head to FRIM - the Forest Research Institute of Malaysia. It's about 45 minutes away from KL if you know the way, about an hour and a half if you don't. As usual directions were relied upon petrol kiosk attendants and my sister's 5 year old memory of when she last went. We managed, and we took the Rover trail to admire lots of arboretums with pretty "crown shy" diptocarpae and walked the Canopy walkway. It's supposed to be the best in Asia - at 200m and all plank, net, ladder and lots of strong rope, it was scary as hell and totally worth it. I'm glad I got across alive!

Even the FRIM map we got from the visitor's centre wasn't well drawn enough for us to keep track of where we were going, so we wandered along the track with slight concern we were lost and eventually ended up at the Malay Tea House (which also wasn't on the map) for some mediocre food and cool herbal tea.

After we got home and showered we headed to Touches De Siam - a thai spa in Bangsar. We opted for a great 90minute massage carried out by thais, but we still concurred that nothing beats the one we had in Thailand. Downsides of the place - dead cockroach on the stairs, toilet that has to be accessed outdoors on the smoker's balcony facing the road, a rude chinese receptionist, and the lack of proper beds that make it comfortable to place your head while you're facing down during your massage. It is clean otherwise though, and the massage was great.

Penang tomorrow, bed for now. 'You're a part-time lover and a full-time friend.' My bf is NEITHER right now. Grrr.
