Why I've been absent

So.. the previous post WAS valid. Grr, you owe me BIG TIME for that phone call.

Though it boosted my confidence in how resourceful I can be.. with a sprinkle of luck and english-speaking thais.

Of late, life has been kinda hectic! I've pretty much had 2 months worth of visitors, from Sijia, to Ax, to G, to Caryn, to Kem and Cooney, to Wei, and Yuen - who's been partner in crime for the past 2 weeks. Yeah I have a sporadic social life, one should appreciate it's better than nothing. Random excerpts lie ahead.

It's been pretty fun playing tour guide, and empowering to feel like you know the lay of your land, even if mine only encompasses a small section of Singapore, at least it's the sections that everyone would care about. I've consumed a lot of local fare, recycled restaurants, partied the weekend's worth, and intoxicated myself with various LEGAL substances for several weeks running now. This final week of work must be one for detoxification, yoga, fruits, water. Eurgh, that Lau Pa Sat char kway teow really did me in with its oily sheen.

By the way, I finally made it to the Full Moon Party, after yonks and years of planning with Loo, we finally made it there together!

Also did KM8 at sunset on Sunday, and dragging Kem and Cooney to the Night Safari (bad last carriage ooh) and Singapore's production of Cabaret at the Esplanade which was surprisingly good! Guess developing the arts scene has been very worth our nation's while. Oh and managed to get a space at PS cafe for dinner where I took away a slice of carrot cake - YUM - and have a piece of the 3G special. I also got stuck in the jam caused by the fireworks.. TWICE, and at least the second time was somewhere where Yuen and I could actually SEE them (as opposed to hearing bangs and seeing flashes and being 100 metres away from having them in full view), and ironically, the second time was when we didn't plan to watch them.

Bar Baa Black Chic was also a new experience, an indie club in Singapore!

By the way, remind me never to have double shots in mixers. The lights and the almost passing out in MoS was... not fun. The last time that happened wasn't either, and I have the scar on my leg as a permanent reminder.

Oh and I'm quitting my job this week. Joy!
