The madness that was Lanvin x H&M

Nov 30, 2010 00:25

It's been way too long since I've had verbal diarrhoea on this thing. Well why now? A lot of the blogs I've been reading lately are fashion related / obsessed. Though some claim to be merely interested in social media, and other's a sartorial hobby, they all had one thing in common lately - LANVIN X H&M.

Yes. You heard me. You're a twitter-Facebook-Notcot whore fan. You know exactly what I'm talking about.

It didn't start off like this. With L-A-N-V-.. all in CAPS. Sure I browsed the items, watched the video, read the press releases. All I wanted was this:

Somehow I got sucked into the whole frenzy, leading me to login 3 hours early, refresh the page every 10 mins, check obsessively if it was launched without me realised (read: refresh click click click click), and when it did I added every single item I memorised and checked out.

Then the nightmare began. The address was wrong so I changed it, pressed submit and the website crashed. And crashed. AND CRASHED. But I persevered, and suddenly, amidst all the chaos, adrenaline, stress of purchasing something that I knew a million and one people are trying to snag and deep dark dejectedness about losing everything in my cart, THE ORDER WENT THROUGH.

The disbelief!! It went on for quite a while. I've never quite participated in this kind of war before. And I came out triumphant? No wayyy.

But it did! And then it happened again when I logged into 2 days later and a lot of returns went back online. I made another 2 orders that were mainly presents (I say to console and redeem myself) and then decided. Enough is enough. STOP ALREADY.

The spoils (I truly am spoilt!):

Tulle, Jacket, Tshirt Dress, Floral Dress

Gifts - Tee, Shoes, Tux jacket and pants

I'm finding this whole online shopping thing rather dissatisfying, what with the mammoth lack of INSTANT GRATIFICATION. No overnight shipping? No overnight free overseas shipping?? Looks like I won't be wearing that red beauty of a tulle at Christmas. Sigh.

I've heard that Valentino x Gap is also out in Colette now. But no more sprees for me til 2011, which thankfully, isn't that far away..... :)
