Alright, So I'm buying a drink at the Eaton's Center here in Toronto. (Mango Juice at the RichTree). I sit down and sip away, when a young looking very quite voiced homeless guy shows up asking for spare change. I had to re-ask him his question twice as his voice was so soft and quite compared to the busy sound of the mall. I initially said no, and he left with no complaints. After a few minutes of watching him ask others in the food court with no avail, I started to feel very bad. I thought how many times I threw away "extra" food when I was full. I saw his face as others said no and went on with there meals...
That really bothers me. I mean you CAN'T say no, or you feel like shit because your eating or drinking, when they are begging for anything to eat or drink...
The fact is, you can't give money to EVERY homeless person out there. If you did you yourself would be broke. Yet you feel like you have to help them all. (Or maybe it's just me)
In the end before he left the food court, I gave this young, and quite voiced person a $10 bill and told him to go and eat. He thanked me repeatedly, and went off to buy food at a vendor.
I don't even know how to end this post. Life is confusing sometimes.
