Online dating
I will admit it, I find myself very curious about those dating websites. I especially like OK Cupid... and not for the reasons that you'd think. They've got all these tests which I find totally irresistible. Sure, it's nice to get a message from someone, but like as not it's not going to be someone you find either attractive or interesting. Anymore, I check them just to see what sort is going to message me, or 'wink' or 'eye contact' or whatever the watchword for those things is.
Some of the men who do so seem genuinely interesting, but it seems to be the rule of thumb that they are either too old, too young, too far away, or too weird (and not weird in a good way). Even though more and more so-called normal people are hooking up on-line and such, I still end up catching the eyes of either dirty old men or weirdos. And I don't know what it is about me that does so. I know I'm a little weird, but not weird enough. Some of the guys who message me have gone past weird and come out on the other side. Then there are the dirty old men. I define dirty old men as being nearer my parents' generation than my own. As if I'd be interested in someone who is over 40! I'm not even twenty five yet. And I state on my profiles that I'm not interested in anyone who is over seven years older than myself (Unless it's Gerard Butler, but he's just HOT).I don't know, this is just an odd rant. I usually find something to laugh about in reference to these sites, but the whole middle age men trying to pick up young women really creeps me out and takes the amusement out of the thing.
