Birthday Boys!!
First off--a happy 28th birthday to dear Ohno Satoshi. The man who loves to go fishing and has his mom pick out his own clothes. I've said what I thought of him last year, but I also want to congratulate him on the amazing that was Maou, and how he managed to pull off an incredible Naruse Ryo. And it's his first lead in a drama! I hope I get to see him in more things in the future <3
Next--happy 25th birthday to Maruyama Ryuhei. I've spent a LONG time trying to figure out what to do for his birthday--picspam? gushing? uploads? So I decided in the end to link you to some Maru amazing if you haven't seen it yet:
Tsuukai Everyday - the episode from 5/27 when he teaches the Wa Ha Ha dance to kindergartners. SO INCREDIBLY CUTE!!
SCP 9/21 (.001 | .002) - you hear things straight from his mouth that you may not have heard before. One of the saddest was the moment of the manzai competition between TaNaka (Koki and Nakamaru) vs YamaDa and how they clearly lost because of the obvious difference in popularity between the two units. EDIT: Apparently eitokickass has just released their subbed version, so go check that out now!
Jitensha Shounenki (locked to the texas_lovers community) - this drama is a must watch!! If you've hesitated watching it up until now, WATCH IT! Maru plays a serious character and he just breaks my heart and wrenches it apart. This boy's the only one from Eito who was the closest to making me cry XD After you watch this, you can complain with me about the injustice of the boy not getting more drama roles! EDIT: Plus highly suggested by sibarita who believes is the best display of Maru thighs and muscles in 1 hr 30min of tv worthy plus an angry Yasu xD
X-Mas party 2002 - where all you can hear in the background is "kakkoii~" LOL
I don't think I can exactly put into words my opinions on Maru. He's an intelligent, deep, mysterious, surprising individual, and he really keeps you on your toes. You hear him first as the crazy person who is the moodmaker of the group (Subaru even called him the 'Moodmaker Hero' in a recent article), but then you later learn that he is a serious, thoughtful, observant person who seems to ruminate on pretty much everything. He also has an interesting family dynamic, that being his parents as bodybuilders and his brother and sister who are waaaayyy younger than him. Another tidbit I heard but can't confirm is that Maru was unhappy by being referred to as 'Kanjimi3', since jimi=plain, so Subaru ended up renaming their unit as Ohyamada. He also seems to really admire the stable characters of Hina and Yasu. He has been hanging out with Hina a lot lately and has close historical ties with Yasu (I stand by it as a Yamada fan!). With Baru they seem to function on the same wavelength moodwise and know when to be all over each other and when to stay away XD Ohkura he has mentioned really heals him with his smile and his laugh, and with Yoko he appears to me to be drawn to his kindness. With Ryo they seem to be quite different, but get along in interesting ways, such as when Ryo gave Maru a computer as a gift, or when he said that Maru has the most handsome face XD Maru has mentioned that like Yasu, Ryo has many positive traits that he doesn't have, which frustrates him a little, but also makes him want to work harder. I know how you feel Maru XD Anyways I think I'll just ramble on too much because I really do understand his thoughts a lot. I just want to say how awesome he is and how I hope he has a great b-day XD
And in other news-- Ohkura talks about meeting up with Uchi earlier in the year. Silly Ohkura XD
