DOWNLOAD DONE! Now for the summary~~
I'm going to do the entire summary first, then the caps. When I did it all at once it took too long XD
It is the 8th of August, summer vacation, and incredibly hot. Takemoto is desperately trying to keep cool. There's a summer festival but Takemoto is not up for it. Aww Takemoto sees the ring on his desk that he gave Hagu before--the memory returns of the beach when he spots Hagu and Morita kissing. His cellphone starts ringing. It turns out to be Hagu. He freaks out. He also can't speak correctly. She has returned back and he keeps saying "okaeri" and her "tadaima". To be perfectly honest I can't see what both of these men see in her. She seems so...bland. He seems to go through this inner monologue that is quite reminiscent of Nakatsu's inner monologues in Hana Kimi. I guess she brought back souvenirs and asked him to eat with her. He asks where she's at. He rushes off like a crazy person. And it seems like he renews his hopes with her.
Hagu walks in the halls and hears a buzzing sound. She peers outside and sees someone working on an art piece. The person takes off his mask and goggles and she discovers that it is Morita. She kind of spazzes and trips over herself XD He notices that she had a flier about the summer festival and asks her about it. She spazzes again and runs off.
Yamada sits outside, fanning herself. She remembers when she was on Mayama's back, confessing to him. She gets a call. Takemoto rushes into Hanamoto-sensei's office, calling for Hagu. Seems like Yamada is already there to greet him, saying that it's been a while. Takemoto hides the flier for the summer festival behind his back. Mayama arrives, and Takemoto realizes that Hagu called everyone and not just him. Yamada looks at Mayama, embarrassed. Morita arrives and it's Hagu's turn to look embarrassed. I guess there's not enough food for all of them to share so they decide to do some stupid stopwatch game and Takemoto offers to play, but when he realizes what has happened everyone else except for Hagu are already eating and took the food. Hagu offers to share half with him and Takemoto is happy XD Hagu is still out of it. Morita asks if she's weird because of the kiss. The others are confused and Takemoto rushes over to try to smooth things out, trying to twist the word "chu" into something else. Mayama asks if Morita kissed her and Takemoto tries to cover it. In all of the excitement Morita steals the food from Takemoto's plate--the half that Hagu gave him. The kettle goes off.
Hagu runs and trips, taking the table settings with her. Yamada walks off with her to help her out. Yamada takes on an older sister role with her, no? The girls leave. Morita asks Takemoto if he likes Hagu. Takemoto doesn't answer. Mayama of course already knows so he pretty much assents. Morita throws his arm around Takemoto, jokingly yelling out to Hagu, to tell her that he likes her. Takemoto knocks him down to keep him silent. I don't understand that Morita kid sometimes...
Hagu washes dishes and still remembers the kiss that her and Morita shared. Meanwhile Morita "dai-sensei"'s arts collector guy is looking at another one of his brilliant art projects. He for some reason wants to cut it in half--perhaps to allude to Hagu half-ing her food for Takemoto...? Takemoto is lying on his back in bed, staring at the flier for the summer festival. I'm thinking Hagu wants to go with Morita... Takemoto hears heels clicking on the wooden floor. He crawls outside to see what's the matter. Whoever is owner of those heels just dug them into Takemoto's hand XD He yells out in pain. This woman talks about his unrequited love with Hagu. Takemoto asks her how she knew. She points up behind him. Morita seems to have made a poster about it and put it over the door to his room. Ah okay, she's the chick who works with Rika-san. She suggests pink curtains in his room. She knocks on Mayama's door and Mayama freaks out. He makes Takemoto go into his room.
Takemoto looks at another package his mom delivered to him. This time he does not have such high hopes, with the sad music playing in the beginning XD But you know what? He did get a pink curtain ;) Ahh and I guess Mayama was unable to kick Takemoto out, because he was there serving them tea AND Morita randomly showed up ;) I guess Mayama doesn't want to try it again or go back into the whole thing. Takemoto gets mad at him about it and Morita need to get an explanation of what's going on. Takemoto can be kind of like a cheerleader for all of them, isn't he? He seems to care the most about the group but always gets teased or left behind. He really is a special type of person. I wonder how he can handle it. Takemoto gets a phone call and it's Hagu on the other line. He's about to ask her to the festival but Hanamoto-sensei picks up the phone from her and asks him to help him move something. Oh poor Takemoto XD No luck with the ladies ;)
Next scene is Fujiwara Design office. There's an H&C sign on top of it ;) I forgot their names at the moment but the co-workers of Rika-san are there. They talk about how they broke up or are done or whatever. Meanwhile Yamada is tending to the plants outside of her house and she notices that one of her plants was broken. Her father shows up behind her. He tries to convince her to start anew. Flashback to Yamada shouting after Mayama who was running to Rika in the rain. I think I remember them saying in the manga and anime that nothing sparks someone to run after someone in the rain like that except for love.
Yamada sees Mayama standing outside looking at a flier or something. She approaches him and they make small talk. Then they become silent and Yamada tells him that she'll support him when it comes to Rika. I really like this relationship between these two because it's so real--I can understand why she is attracted to him and why it's complicated, unlike the main love triangle. And how Mayama reacts--as not wanting to hurt her by making her stay in love with him, but she can't help herself. He can't help himself either--when it comes to Rika. Yamada walks off. Mayama watches after her, contemplative. Camera moves to Yamada's face, and you can see tears start to build up in her eyes. Poor Yamada--trying so hard to give up her love but it's not working ;_;
Hagu is painting and turns around to find Morita entering the room. She freaks out again and heads out. Morita stops her and asks her where she's going. She says she's going home. I really wonder what Morita's actually thinking. Takemoto lifts wrapped chairs to load on Hanamoto-sensei's truck. Takemoto sits in the back of the pickup as Hanamoto starts driving. He's just sitting along and notices Morita and Hagu walking by the truck, holding hands. Takemoto jumps up and begs for Hanamoto to stop the truck. Morita notices him and waves. Morita and Hagu link arms--the truck doesn't stop so Takemoto yells out "nooooo" as the truck drives off. Morita and Hagu are shopping for art supplies as Hagu silently watches Morita.
Takemoto helps bring the chairs up a spiral staircase. Turns out he's helping deliver the chairs to Rika-san's place. Takemoto's rushing since he probably wants to rush off to catch Morita and Hagu. He finally finishes and hears faint talking in the distance. He stands at the doorway and overhears a conversation between Shuuji and Rika over Mayama. Takemoto discovers the real reason why he cannot return to his job. Mayama lays on his back on his bench. Morita and Hagu are eating takoyaki. Hagu is still acting weird and walks off alone. Morita is confused.
Hagu's walking and notices Yamada swinging a baseball bat in the air. Yamada notices her approach and asks her why she looks out of spirits. Hagu looks at Yamada. I think Hagu really looks up to and respects Ayumi-chan because she appears very strong and seems to handle herself pretty maturely. She also cares for Hagu a lot and I'm sure she notices. The girls team up to swing baseball bats together. That must be good stress relief XD
The three boys get caught up in their love lives of course--Takemoto bothering Morita about being with Hagu--Morita bothering Mayama because Hagu left during takoyaki--Morita mentioning the kiss to Takemoto again--Takemoto mentioning to Mayama that he met and found out about Rika--and so on and so forth. So in the end they all grabbed each other's collars and are circling around each other. And to make them all feel better, Lohmeyer senpai has returned--with a watermelon ;)
Looks like the boys are playing that game where you do the pinata thing but with a watermelon. Mayama asks about Takemoto's pink curtains. No comment :D Lohmeyer senpai gives another one of his speeches that they dote on about love, being a man, etc. A light shines behind him. Takemoto gets energized to hit the watermelon. Takemoto is blindfolded and stands up. The other two guides him not to hit the watermelon, but to destroy his boombox. However, Takemoto realizes this plan and does not hit his boombox. The other two are disappointed. He turns around and lowers his wooden stick. Lohmeyer catches it in his hands. He was about to hit him! The others are amazed. Takemoto takes off his blindfold and apologizes profusely to him. Lohmeyer-senpai is okay with it and wishes him luck with his love. Takemoto hugs him tightly. Meanwhile Morita blindfolds himself and successfully hits each watermelon on his first tries. Takemoto gets mad at him.
Hagu eats yakiniku with Yamada and her father. Yamada's father asserts that Hagu must be in love/unrequited love with Morita. Yamada insists that it's not the case--Hagu agrees with Yamada. But...we pretty much can assume that she's lying. I actually kind of like the Yamada family--they seem quite funny and snarky XD She flashes back to a moment between her and Morita.
Takemoto is sulking while the other two eat the watermelon. Morita cheers him up by offering to help Takemoto take Hagu to the summer festival thing. Next morning Takemoto is lying on his back--with part of his shirt strategically riding up, exposing his abdomen. He rushes out and is all excited and stuff. It's the day of the summer festival--with the fireworks at night. Mayama discusses Rika with Hanamoto. He tells him her background--about how she spilled hot water over herself when making soba on her left arm so has this huge scar--how the man she loved died in an airplane crash (actually I don't remember and I'm too lazy to go back and check)--and it shows how the scar is kind of a reminder--and that her heart cannot be touched.
Yamada and Hagu are cleaning up. Hagu must still be thinking about the comments made the night before regarding her and Morita. Takemoto is shopping for a yukata. The first one he looks at is a tad too expensive for him. Poor college kid ;) He has some problems, but he ends up getting the second yukata he looked at. He looks very happy. Then he notices that this goofy guy is wearing the same one that he is XD Geez--nothing goes right for him!! Mayama walks on the road and looks up--seeing the spiraling staircase that leads to Rika's place. He remembers what Hanamoto-sensei told him earlier. He turns around and walks back. Rika is standing on the side, watching him walk away. Mayama rushes into Fujiwara Design. He begs to work there. They let him.
The fireworks start going off. Takemoto watches it by himself at the festival. Hagu and Yamada dress up in their yukatas. They watch the fireworks as well. Mayama walks by himself and watches the fireworks in the distance. Cut to Rika watching the same fireworks, showing her scar from the water spilling and a picture frame of her, that man, and Shuuji. Meanwhile Shuuji sits by himself in a couch chair as the fireworks go on behind him. Takemoto goes off, wanting to watch the fireworks with Hagu. Yamada and Hagu head out to the festival to buy takoyaki from Lohmeyer-senpai. Hagu remembers Morita talking to her over takoyaki. She remembers Morita hugging her, kissing her. She runs off in the other direction. Yamada calls after her.
Mayama calls out Yamada's name. She is alone now, and turns around, shocked. He teases her because she was eating the takoyaki. She hits him playfully, calling him an aho. He told her that she looks nice in her yukata. She is speechless. The fireworks continue over their heads. Hagu runs to the rooftop where Morita works on his art pieces. He comes out and greets her. They watch the fireworks together. Wonder where Takemoto is ;_; Morita gestures Hagu to get closer. Hagu approaches him slowly. Morita calls for Takemoto. He appears. Hagu quickly hides the takoyaki behind her back. Morita whispers to Takemoto, wishing him luck. He walks off. Hagu gazes after him. Takemoto tries to call her name to catch her attention, but she keeps looking at Morita as he walks off. Takemoto notices the takoyaki she was hiding behind her back. Takemoto realizes where her feelings lie. He wanted to watch the fireworks with Hagu. But it won't work out ;_;
Yamada is crouched in her house, crying. Her father sees her. She sobs that it's impossible. She tries to give up, but it doesn't work. You know--this unrequited love is actually getting to me a lot more than the main love triangle. It's just--they both seem like great people, and the circumstances are just too unfortunate between them. Ahh--it's just too bad :( Camera focus on the broken plant. Episode ends with Takemoto looking after Hagu who is looking after Morita.
NEXT EPISODE: It's Christmas time! Takemoto contemplates buying a present for Hagu. Mayama talks to Rika-san directly. Morita decides to leave on a bus to go to New York. Morita and Takemoto acknowledge each other as rivals? Takemoto asks Hagu if she likes Morita?? Hagu confesses to Morita???
Summary done--caps are up next ;)
