Home Again!

So I kinda disappeared this month.... with good reason though.   I finally got around to doing something with all the vacation time I accumulated last year and never used... (over 3 weeks worth).

I went on an adventure!

Seriously!

With camels and sandstorms and Berber tribes and souks and medinas and scary bits and everything.

I was in Morroco for 2 weeks. (Then in Paris for a week reccuperating)

Morroco was insane. The trip was a bit of a whirlwind.... we covered so much ground... I've been to Casablance (yes I went to Rick's), Rabat, Meknes, Volubilis, Fes (the city not the hat), the Mid Atlas Mountains, the Sahara Desert, Tineghir, the Todra Gorge, the Dades Gorge (the route of 1000 kasbahs), Ait Benhaddou, trekking in the High Atlas Mountains, Essaouira (a hippy refuge from the 70s), and Marrakech.

I dealt with carpet sellers... I learned to haggle... I had a guy follow me around for three and a half hours trying to get me to tell him my name (I was apparently the girl of his dreams).

In one days I rode camels out into the desert to see the sunrise, walked through a massive oasis at lunch, and hiked through a gorge before dinner (they nearly sent a search party out after me).

I've got so many stories about this trip I don't know where to begin....
but I've noticed Flickr has a new tool where you can create a book using your photos and stories... so I'm going to take a stab at that.

It's nice to be home again.... my mind is still overwhelmed a bit from everything :)
