Hope everyone had a good weekend/holiday. :) I did, yes. ;P
I had the pleasure of having illucian and eclipsegryph over at my place on Saturday. As soon as they got here we geeked a little about the hummingbirds visiting my feeder and Pokémon. Luxie gave me a little intro to Danny Phantom, too. ;D Kalu was sitting very nicely on Luxie's shoulder, behaving herself very well (even preening!). atschuetz came by soon after they arrived, bringing Settlers of Catan and its expansion, Cities and Knights of Catan. :P But first - we went out for pearl milk tea!
We went over to O-Ray's Tea Time (I think it's a Ten Ren, just with a different name...) and Adam and I got jasmine milk teas (his with pearls), Luxie tried a strawberry MT with pearls, and Eclipse got a chocolate MT with pearls. They enjoyed it (I think Luxie said they'd tried them before, but I don't think Eclipse remembered... XD), even the slimy frog eyes tapioca pearls. XD The jasmine was okay; I still prefer Q-Cup's (next door :P). Oh well. Next time. ;) After grabbing our drinks, Eclipse mentioned that he was looking for a nice sake set. So off we went again - to the Japanese dollar store and the kitchenware store!
We wandered around the dollar store first. They've really got everything in there, and for cheap. ;D Loose bowls, cups, plates, detergent, sandals, food, art supplies, tools, everything! Eclipse didn't find anything he liked in the sake department, though. ;) Haha, but we went through the whole store, saying, "Hey, I've been looking for this!" or "That's really awesome!" and ended up buying none of it. :P Eclipse did pick up a small box of ... gummy sushi, though. o____O It was apparently a gummy on top of a chocolate-filled marshmallow. Didn't sound appetizing to me at all, but he liked it. XD
Still in search of a nice sake set, we headed to the kitchenwares store a block or so down. ;) This time, there were actual sake sets, along with plates, bowls, utensils, tools, teapots, steamers, rice cookers, everything kitchen-related. :D Clipsburd and Luxie perused the shelves, and they picked out a gourd-shaped sake bottle set with two cups. Very awesome. I've always liked sake sets too, but... I don't drink. XD Anywho, Adam was just looking for things for his own kitchen when I got a call from Rob. He was already at my place - IN my place, because apparently I didn't shut the front door properly. ;P Whoops. So we went back to my place. :)
... and finally broke out the Settlers. ;) It took a while to explain Cities and Knights, but we finally got set up and everything. Of course, while the boys were talking, Luxie and I were sketching in our sketchbooks, mostly raptorfolio-related stuff. :P Hehe. Anyway, Luxie pulled out ahead really quickly in the game, but then her numbers stopped getting rolled (as did mine >>), and so Rob and Eclipse took over the lead. We didn't really finish the game because we got hungry, but Rob was out ahead, so he was deemed the winner. ;)
We headed out to Korean BBQ then, with Adam picking up fuwang along the way, who brought Luxie's and Eclipse's Firefly set back from their place. ;) Dinner was good, though service was a little slow in the beginning. It picked up pretty quickly, though. :P We had the full complement: kalbi, bulgogi, spicy pork, chicken, and dol sot bibimbap. :D Yummy.
After dinner I drove Rob, Lux, and Eclipse back to my place (Adam and Fuson went home). Rob went back too, but Luxie showed me an episode of Danny Phantom (Dragons! XD) real fast before they went home.
<3 I miss them already. ;) I'm so glad they could come down though! :D Next time... Luxie tells me she's baiting me to Petaluma with Kabuki Sushi. Evil. XD
Woa, that was long. XD Sunday and Monday were a little less busy. ;)
Sunday morning-afternoon I spent with my mom as per usual. We had gyros for lunch (OMG soooo good!), then we went down to Fry's Electronics. I set her up with her CD/MP3 player with radio transmitter (yay Fry's!), then she dropped me off at Adam's, where we played yet another game of Settlers. XD Adam won that one, and I gave him lots of flak for NEVER BEING ALLOWED TO COMPLAIN ANYMORE about his poor luck or why everyone picks on him in these games. It's 'cause he wins so often! :P We started dinner (lamb roast, sautéed mushrooms & baby squash & onions, Akai rice), and while the roast was cooking, I finally got to play Lego Star Wars! :D It's so fun! XD You play through Episodes 1-3 as Lego characters. XD Dinner was very tasty too, though I didn't have that much lamb. It was the veggies that were soooooooo good. :D Yum. Afterwards was a little more Lego Star Wars, crosswords, and TV. ;)
Monday Rob came by for lunch - Vietnamese on Castro. Seeing as Adam, Fu, and I had already had waffles, Rob was the only one with a full meal. ;) Fu and I split a bowl of pho, and Adam had an appetizer. I had a really strange drink called Jelly Pearl. It was coconut milk with red... juice, and there were clear jelly 'noodles' in it, along with pearls of um... unknown substance. XD It was pretty good, but oversweet. o_O I ended up drinking most of it anyway. ;)
We came back and played yet another game of Settlers. XD Adam won (again). :P Rob had to leave then to go on a raid for WoW, and we played some more Lego Star Wars. ;D We headed over to lwu81's and ervan's to prepare for dinner, bringing along Settlers, of course. :) Fu, Lori, and I played two more games while we were waiting for 9 (when Adam and Evan would go get pvirdone and limml from the airport - OMG THEY'RE MARRIED). Fu won both games, though I'd gotten to 12 (out of 13 points) right before he did. Suck. ;) Anyway, we cleared the table and Lori set it up very nicely, with candles and folded napkins and everything. XD The newlyweds got back, and there was much hugging and happiness overall. :P It was really good to see them again, seeing as it's been a while since we've last spent any large amount of time together. ;) They showed us the slideshow of their pictures and the professionally-taken ones. Very cute! XD
Afterwards we ate. Braised and smoked ribs (omg yum), corn, more Akai rice, and brownies with ice cream for dessert! :D Omg. The ribs were soooooooo tender and tasty. :D Dessert was awesome too - the brownie was so rich. XD Needless to say, I ate till I was stuffed. ;)
We played with the kitties for a little bit while we digested, then Adam took me home (along with Paul and Minli, and of course Fuson). :P I went directly to bed. XD
Wow. That was still a lot of writing. XD I'm amazed if anyone read all of that. :P Most of it was about Settlers, friends, and good food, wasn't it? XD Hahaha. The elements of a great time. ;)
So we knew of ELo, Paul and Minli have now been dubbed PLi, and apparently the best we could come up with for Adam and myself was Adily. XD Odd. :P
Tonight - D&D! Paul can FINALLY level his character!! XD OMG. Still not the full group, though - JohnE and Paul are finally back, but now JohnP will be gone. Sad!
I feel good today. :) Hungry. XD
