October 29, 6:25pm, Downtown Kyoto, Japan

Today in my wanderings I came across a beautiful temple. Soon after I arrived a man began ordering people off a path. I was soon to realize that I had come in time to witness a wedding. I don't think I have ever in my life felt more the absence of a mate...

Now I am sitting in yet another coffee shop - a chain I've never heard of named Dou Tor. I just finished a toasted ham, cheese and mayo sandwich and the most heavenly mocha coffee (and the cheapest so far) I've ever had the pleasure of tasting. The city is busy and bright. Everything you see in the movies and more. I'm loathe to return to the ryokan, even though I believe my feet are bleeding from all the walking I've done today. At least it stopped raining. I can't really complain, there has only been one day of rain the entire time I've been in Japan.
