4 months overdue
Hahaha... just had an awkward moment with my old art professor. He came up to the info desk, and both of us just stared oddly at the other for a few seconds, trying to figure out why the other person looked so familiar. Finally Olsen was first to get it and was like, "You were a student in one of my classes, weren't you?" and then the lightbulb hit for me as well. Oooh dear, I'm getting old...
But anywho, update! Damn its been a long time, and I'll try to keep up with it now that everyone is scattered all over the place. I miss you all so much, ack! The summer is going slow 'n steady, and it's hard for me to wrap my head around that its almost gone. (Heh, just ran in to Prof. Negri, who started teasing me about how I seem to be "running" campus and will eventually end up in the President's office) Its actually been one of the best summers I've had, even though not too many people are around campus... and yes, Dan being here helped alot as well.
The epic job hunt still continues, but I'm slowly getting the feeling that no one really wants to even consider me unless I can start immediately. Which means I'll probably have to start pinching my pennies in anticipation of living jobless for awhile. And let me tell you that unnerves me so much, since I've always gone from one job to the next practicallys seamlessly, and with my parents so far away, its stressful as all get out for me. However, a small ray of sunshine has popped up as my parents will be flying in on Friday and staying until Monday, and in the meantime staying with me as we venture forth to find me a car. Granted, this will relieve the pains of having to rent cars all the time and their eventual cost, but now that I start to think of insurance, car payments, and then ridiculous gas prices my stomach gets tight again (can you tell I might have an ulcer by September?).
Luckily, my personal life is the main thing that is keeping me stable and sane right now. Zane has been great in furthering my movie education as well as slowly corrupting me with tons of torrents and expensive shopping habits... blast it all! Dan naturally has been a great comfort, and seems to have gotten used to my random spurts of paranoia and tells me when I'm being oversensitive, which unlike most typical girls, I am grateful for since I know I'm crazy at times. Additionally, his family has also taken to me and seems to like me well enough - younger sister Kimbria now gives me a great big hug whenever I come over to their house - and even the extended family is finding out and wanting to meet me as well. Thursday I cook dinner for them since they've invited me to so many of their dinners already, so cross your fingers I don't poison anyone!
Anywho, that's all the main bulk of what's been happening to me since the beginning of summer... hope everyone else is doing well too! :-D
