We are on Day 26 of self-isolation in our loft apartment due to me being pre-disposed to respiratory infections. I have only been as far as the garbage stand since March 15. I call it "hiking the Garbage Stand Trail." Last night was hike #6 and my first night time excursion. Both the City of Edmonton and the Province of Alberta have issued emergency public health orders and all non-essential businesses are closed. Our grocery store delivers, and my sister will pick up a few things for us every time she goes out. I am very pleased to see how our Chief Medical Officer has become a popular celebrity. I hope that a positive after-effect of the pandemic will be a permanent public appetite for factual information from expert, public interest institutions.

Nashina and I both work from home, too. She works for the Federal Government and I work for the Government of Alberta so I like to say that our apartment has turned into a little intergovernmental affairs unit.

I hope your mother is recovering comfortably.
