Saturday Night
Aside from making myself sick for a few hours, my vacation got off to a very pleasant start Saturday night.
When I got off work, I picked up some Wendy’s and headed to my apartment to meet lildomino. When she got there, I tried to eat fast so we could get to the fair as early as possible, which was a mistake. I wound up with something lodged in my oesophagus, which didn’t feel pleasant to put it lightly. The obstruction was below my epiglottis, so I wasn’t choking. However, since it was a blockage, my stomach did the digestive system equivalent of coughing, which was even more unpleasant. Haste makes waste. Ick!
When my torso finally stopped hurting, lildomino and I hung out for a bit to make sure I was solidly feeling better, and then the two of us headed to the fair. lildomino’s been to fairs before, of course. However, if I remember correctly she hadn't been to the State Fair, so it was fun. We shopped in the dollar-tool tent, enjoyed funnel cake and sausage, and went on the Tilt-A-Whirl. Yummy bad food and amusement rides - what the fair is all about! Plus we enjoyed the eye candy, which was rather enjoyable on warm Saturday night.
By the time we got back to my apartment we were overheated, thirsty, and tired. We talked about watching something, but when I got back from getting ready for bed, lildomino was already on her laptop. I cuddled up next to her with my own laptop while she laughed at things from Fark.com and icanhascheezburger.com. I thought about hopping on the MUX, but I didn’t know how long we’d be up, and by the time I realized we’d be up pretty late, it was already two and I figured I should sleep since I needed to drive the next day.
lildomino looked like she was planning to be up a while, so I took out my contacts and intended to sleep while she browsed. However, it wasn’t too long before she shut her laptop down and joined me for snuggles and sleep. For once, neither of us had to be up early the next day, so we cuddled up and slept a full eight hours. Snuggling up to lildomino and sleeping late was a fantastic and relaxing way to start a wonderful week’s vacation.
