Thanksgiving Weekend
Overall, I had a relatively nice Thanksgiving weekend.
Wednesday night after work I drove to Cincinnati to spend the night at my sister’s. Being me, I was running about two hours behind - but being my sister, so was she, so she got there not too long after me. We hung out a little, but I hadn’t gotten much sleep last week, so I crashed pretty early.
Thursday my sister made Thanksgiving dinner, and I went to pick up my mother so that she, also, couldn’t be late. The meal was excellent, and my mother only moderately annoying. *chuckle* After dinner we hung out a bit, and then I took Mom home so C#H_ could go visit her boyfriend’s parents, and then eventually I went back over to C#H_’s when she got home, so we could stay up late and play Mille Bornes. /geek
Friday I had breakfast with my mother, and then met lemur_lady for the drive back from Cincinnati. lemur_lady had made some mix CDs, so we had Silly and Not Silly music to listen to while we drove back. I still hadn’t gotten much sleep, so lemur_lady drove so we wouldn’t die. When we got to lemur_lady’s, we snuggled up and watched House, MD while she worked on the Endless Sweater, and went to bed relatively early to snuggle and sleep.
Saturday I’d planned to help icespark endure her parents’ Thanksgiving visit, and so I left lemur_lady’s and drove back up to Indy. icespark and I have recently broken up, but we’re working on a friendship, and part of that friendship included running interference during her parents’ visit. We took them out to Ichiban, and then hung out and watched the Discovery channel and more House, MD. When they went to bed, I headed home, and wound up staying up most of the night talking to sarah9380 and briefly to lildomino about the state of my relationships with them.
Sunday I went back over to icespark’s to hash out more of the post-dating friendship, and then we went to see the Colts/Eagles game here in Indy. It was nice to see that were weren’t the only Eagles fans at the dome, but oy... the Eagles got PWN3D. It was just sad watching them get utterly owned by the Colts. Ah, well. At least when we left we were surrounded by happy Colts fans and amusingly long-suffering, pissed Eagles fans.
Today I’m back at work, and we’re expecting 3000 calls today just in our department, so I’m trying to get this posted before my lunch is over. With luck, this week will be better than last.
