part onepart two The three sitting on the log watched the other two with interest. Saguru and Kaito silently challenging the other to get up and look. But suddenly, Kaito heard something; his unusually keen hearing picked up on a name. A familiar name.
“H-Heiji.. stop.” So that was the western Tantei? Who was the other? Reasoning told him Shinichi, because it just seemed like it should be, sounded like him and another clue... Shinichi would bottom.
….He’d on this island too long. If was just Hattori and Kudo then there was no real immediate danger, but the two were going to be questioned to Hell and back about how they got on the island.
The thief couldn’t think of any immediate threats the Detectives could offer so it should be easy just to get up and go greet them, as if welcoming them to their home. And still he stayed put. He glanced at Hakuba who was no better then he was about the situation.
“You two are useless!” Aoko exclaimed, standing up and moving over to the newcomers. Immediately Kaito and Hakuba sprung into action, trying to grab hold of her and pull her back down.
“Don’t be reckless Aoko!” Kaito hissed. “We’re stranded on an island.”
“Believe me Kaito, I’m aware.” She said dryly. “But what else do you propose we do? Wait for sunrise?”
“….” Kaito let go of her arm a bit reluctantly. She was right, after all, it couldn’t really get much worse.
Kaito moved away from Heiji, trying to discern who the other two were. One was a girl, he knew that because she was a good deal shorter and sitting between the two males. And the other deciding factor, he could make out the small curves, though shadows distorted most of their shapes.
“You two are useless!”
She sounded like a girl. Hold on… he knew that voice. No, nononononono… it couldn’t be… there was no way, she couldn’t be here. Not Now. Surely she’d seen, She’d figure out it was him. Kaito cursed his luck and looked over at Heiji while he subconsciously touched his hand to his head where it was cut, gently, so it wouldn’t sting as bad.
“Don’t be reckless Aoko! We’re stranded on an island!”
His fears were confirmed true. It was Nakamori Aoko. But no one but he himself was allowed to call Aoko just ‘Aoko.’ Who was this other guy?
“Believe me Kaito, I’m aware.”
Oh, so it was him. Kaito started to shrug it off.
…
….
…
Wait. What?
How could he be there, if he was here? And how could he be here, if he was there? …Where was ‘here’ anyway. If they were stranded it stood to reason that he and Heiji were too. He winced slightly. He liked Heiji, but he wasn’t entirely sure he’d survive being stranded on an island with his abusive boyfriend…. Was Heiji his boyfriend?
Whatever Heiji was, he must have heard the small snippet of conversation too because he cast Kaito a thoughtful look. As if questioning the same thing.
…maybe it was an imposter?
Heiji had been quick to figure out There was a girl in the mix. Short, stout figure aside, the other two, the half-Brit and the other guy had stiffened and moved towards the middle, protecting her. And then he heard all the conversation bits. Kaito, Aoko, and Hakuba. They were the three figures. Though he wasn’t sure if that Kaito was really Kaito because he had Kaito… didn’t he?
“Hello!” A voice-the girl’s-Aoko’s, met his ears.
