As I'm sure many of you know by now, Randy will be back again this summer at BTF. www.berkshiretheatre.org/# He'll be playing Nagg in Samuel Beckett's Endgame at the Berkshire Theatre Festival. The play will run from July 6-24. It's a great play and a great part for him, considering his love of Beckett's work. If anyone is interested in reading the one act play, you can find it here: http://www.samuel-beckett.net/endgame.html

Without going into too much detail this early in the game (*g*) no pun intended, Endgame was Beckett's second published work, originally published in France under the title, Fin de Partie. The short explanation of the play is that beginnings and endings are cyclical and repetitive in life as in games. The title refers to the game of chess (Beckett was a chess player). As if to underscore this parallel, the play is loaded with repetitive actions and dialogue. LOL...Not light reading!

I've used some of the dialogue from Endgame in a few of my fics. One of the lines I really love is, “It will be the end and there I’ll be, wondering what can have brought it on and wondering what can have, why it was so long coming...Finished, it’s finished, nearly finished, it must be nearly finished.” ©S.Beckett
