Korean Food!
Alright, I am super jazzed. Ever since I arrived in Yakima, I've been bothered by the lack of real, quality asian cuisine. There is one decent place, Ozeki's, that's pretty expensive for what you get, and a lot of "chinese buffet" greasy spoons. Another popular favorite are the various "Teriyaki" restaurants, which usually say something like "New York Teriyaki Burgers", which don't fill me with confidence.
But today I found a newish restaurant called "Joy Garden", which serves authentic Korean BBQ like absolute pros. The kicker? The owner just recently moved here from MD a few months before I did. Talk about a taste of home! I still have no idea what would posess her to start a restaurant out here, but more power to her, and I hope she does really really well.

Day 4 - Anime you're ashamed you enjoyed
I didn't post this one last night because I had real trouble answering it. Honestly, I can't think of anything I'm ashamed that I enjoy. Yeah, it is kind of weird that I like Berserk as well as Fancy Lala, but I see no problem with that. They're both great shows. If you find it laughable that I enjoy magical girl adventures in between my violent action bloodbaths, then that's your loss, isn't it?
While there are certainly some shows I have enjoyed that have been pretty vapid, that doesn't mean that I'm embarrassed to have liked them. And some shows I've liked may have crappy animation, or nonexistant plots, or something else, but that just means that I liked them for some other reason. And gratuitous fan service / nudity is never anything to be ashamed about. Wow, this entire paragraph makes me want to watch Amazing Nurse Nanako!
Day 5 - Anime character you feel you are most like (or wish you were)
Well, unless you've never seen Golden Boy, you would probably guess correctly that it's Kintaro Oe. Kintaro is a self proclaimed "student of life", who wanders from town to town on his bicycle taking part time jobs. Every time he learns a lesson (no matter how silly) he writes it down in his "special notebook". Yes, he is a complete horndog, but to his credit, the job always comes first, and he's a real stand-up guy. He's also pretty much me in anime form... apart from the whole toilet fetish thing. STUDY STUDY STUDY!
