Get a job....

Remember the old Coasters song, "Get a Job"? Well, I got one, at last! It's seasonal and the pay is low, but it's hopefully gonna be full-time. Inbound sales calls, for products I can support: catalog sales which began with Northwest pears but over the years have expanded to include a broad range of goodies. It might be because Bleach has a very refreshing humour, but turned out to get more serious after a while, too. Of course it still has the addicting charm of the new, which shouldn't be underestimated. ;-) But the characters are just great, males and females alike, and everything has such a nice, modern touch, that is later balanced out by Soul Society's old traditional looks.

I think I need to refresh my memory of RK by rewatching it, it's been a year already since Sanosuke lured me into the anime fandom! In the long run both fandoms might rank equally strong in my heart; they are both excellent in their own way. It's like with love - you don't love two persons the same way, either.

Funny enough, I've been rather absent myself in the past months, working in a lab for a scientific homework (department for molecular genetics, intestinal flora in inflammatory bowel diseases like Morbus Crohn). So I wasn't as thorough in following fics as I would have liked to, and regrettably wasn't writing drabbles, either. But I know that louiseluxasked for recs not too long ago, there might be something to find there.
And I'm really grateful for these tags, for example cicerkeeps some for Saiyuki, Weiß Kreuz and other writings. If you'd like something beautiful and a bit sad with Ishida Uryuu and Ryuuken, I can only recommend ingenius_inc's ficlet, "Child".

On a final and no less random note, I've finally managed to watch Samurai Champloo and now understand why everyone likes it so much. Samurais are a wonderful thing. :)

Off to write on my homework! It's due next week...

I forgot what I read most recently... Once Upon a Time and Twice the morning after by emungere. I'm not a pronounced Aya/Yohji fan, but these were really adorable.

OMG, you are evil; you have created another black hole sucking away all my available time... I started at the bottom and have already spent hours with emungere and her links. Not only am I reading all her fics, but she's led me on to a hysterical Mac/PC series of stories on anthropomor_fic. Perhaps I can give up sleep for a week or two...

Thank you, thank you for all the recs! What a treasure trove!
