[A: Phone; Private to Diana Ethelbert]

I think it's time we called to order the first meeting of the... hm. We still need a name! Then it's doubly important we have a meeting.

[Caesar just so happens to be one of those people passing by. He'll stop at the question, though, and look up into the tree. Oh, a kid.]

Don't tell me you're stuck...

[He looks just a tad embarrassed.]

A little bit.

It's like no one else in this town even knows how to properly climb a tree.

[He supposes that makes it his moral obligation to show them how it really works, not that he ever needs a real reason to climb a tree.]

All right. [Caesar walks up to the tree Cain's stuck in and, after investigating the trunk for a moment, clambers up after him. He'll find a branch across from Cain's to sit on.] So what is it? Suddenly realize a fear of heights?

No, not at all. It's quite nice up here, actually.

It's just that... the branch I used as a foothold coming up has snapped, so I can't use it going down again.

It snapped?

[Oh. He must've not seen that, considering he used a running start to bypass the a higher branch. Which... means... Caesar looks back down, searching out the snapped branch in question.

That is going to make getting back down a bigger problem after all.]

You could have mentioned that part earlier.

[Because now they're both stuck.]

[He gives the older man a rueful grin, rubbing the back of his head a bit guiltily.]

Whoops? Sorry, now I guess we're both stuck.

At least you were right about it being nice up here, but still... [He shrugs and eyes the stub of branch left where the lower one broke off.] We could still use the part still on the trunk to get down. You'd just have to be careful about it.

[He looks back up.]

Oh, hey, what's your name? You sound familiar.

Cain Knightlord.

[He's been trying to place this man's voice as well.]

Did I talk to you over the phone about the DA?

Yeah, you did. Cain. You're the reconnaissance kid, is that right?

That's me! Or... hopefully, anyway.

Hopefully? [Of course. It was too good to be true that someone in town would already be all set for that sort of thing.] You still waiting on the town to return something that helps with that?

Ah... no, I just got that back, actually.

[He supposes, though he would have been capable without it.]

I just meant, hopefully I'm still welcome to be a part of it.

Oh. [He has to wonder what that might be, but it really isn't so important.] Why would you think otherwise? Nearly anyone is welcome to be a part of it.

Ah... thank you, then.

[He peers down out of the tree, swinging his legs a little.]

How should we get down?

How? Carefully, that's how. Like I said before, there's still a part of the branch you broke on the trunk. You should use that as a foothold first. Make sure your back is facing away from the trunk and fall back. I'll just catch you.

I'm going to drop from here, so let me go first.

[He swings a leg over the branch he's on, grabs it with both hands properly, and swings down. He lets go soon after that and manages to hit the ground without hurting himself. Much. He's sure he's bruised a knee, but oh well.

Caesar's back on his feet a moment later and standing under where the broken branch would have been.]

Ah... alright, then.

[He shimmies around easily enough, sliding to put his foot on the stub of broken branch before letting himself fall towards Caesar's arms.]
