talk to me about cloth diapers.  what's your favorite kind?  what's hard?  what's easy?  is it really possible for two working moms?  what do i need to get started?

We use a combination of prefolds and covers and one-size pockets. Pete was extremely nervous about the prefolds but now he actually prefers them because we just tri-fold them and place them in the cover and then put the whole thing on the baby. And when they're dirty you just dump the prefold in the pail and put a new one in the cover (unless it's poopy or the cover got wet and needs replacing too). Easy peasy! He dislikes having to pull the insert out of the pockets before dumping them in the pail, and having to re-stuff the pockets with the inserts after I do laundry. :P

ETA: If you end up trying pockets and want an affordable one, check out Kawaii Baby diapers (theluvyourbaby.com, but also available from retailers with cheaper or free shipping, like sewcraftybaby or re-diaper.com) because they get good reviews and are half the price of BumGenius and other big name brands. I really like mine. Especially with snaps. Snaps aren't as scary as they might seem. I was totally intimidated at first but I like that you don't have to worry about folding down the tabs before washing like you do with velcro/aplix. Also, there's a newer brand called GoGreen (gogreenpocketdiapers.com) which I've just tried and am so far liking a lot. I'm a big fan of one-size or two-size (Thirsties Duo) diapers.

prefolds definitely sound the cheapest.

i like the look of fuzzibuns and knickernappies, too. and i think i'd prefer anything with snaps over velcro. seems like over the long run they'd be longer-lasting.

there's so much to learn...
