No seriously, there's going to be another Assassin's Creed game detailing Ezio. Again. I mean, great on you guys for deciding to release games quickly, but there needs to be a limit. Somebody needs to sit these guys down and explain a few things. Yes, gamers want the next installment of their games quickly, or else we get cranky. I'm looking at you, Valve, but this is getting just plain irresponsible. So here's the skinny.
Assassin's Creed Revelations is going to be, surprise, devoted to Ezio. Again. Didn't we solve his mystery? Haven't we followed that man from nobody to famous assassin messiah enough already? Apparently not, he's going to be heading to Constantinople in the game to follow Altair's footsteps. Awesome. So we're what, gonna recap the first game again?
Yes, I want more from these guys because the Assassin's Creed games are fun but let's be honest. We're not going to get anything magical out of this experience. When Assassin's Creed Brotherhood came out, it sacrificed story for a few new ideas in game play, and none of it was revolutionary. The entire Brotherhood game came across as that awkward middle movie in a great trilogy. The entire time I played it I kept waiting for plot, and... well.. it didn't deliver. So I have a feeling that Revelations will be the same way. I'll wait to buy it until it's dirt cheap, and then play it... and feel like I could have just mucked around with the open world of Assasin's Creed II and been a whole lot happier.
As for the claim that this will wrap up Ezio's story... you mean to say it wasn't? Really? I thought we'd cleared up everything we needed to know about Ezio. We left him the most powerful assassin, enough said. Let it go. Seriously.
C'mon, guys, let's focus on good, fresh new game play and monumental story, instead of cheap cash ins on a franchise that is starting to wear a little thin. We're done with Ezio, let's focus on Desmond. Or god forbid somebody interesting.
