萌え~~~~♥♥♥
My Volks doll arrived today \(>o<)/
And he is too cute for words ~(♥o♥)~
After waiting at the post office for a bit, I picked up a suspiciously large package with a stupid shit-eating grin on my face. Nice Post Office Lady laughs at me. I drive home wondering if my doll is more expensive than the bluebook on my car. (Answer: He's not. Phew.)
The outside is surprisingly uninteresting! I thought Volks would have their own hand-crafted cardboard containers. Or at least have "Volks" stamped on there. Oh well, my baby is FRAGILE ♥
The inside box is wrapped in bubblewrap and plastic, the first of many layers I must do battle with. I sigh with relief that the picture on the box is actually Souji-kun and my order went through correctly. :D
On top is Pretentious Flier and Bag o' Shinsengumi Clothes. The thought occurs to me (so belatedly), "Oh god, dressing him is going to be a pain in the ass."
DOLL NUDITY. Even when you're expecting it, it's still a bit "e-he-hehhh..."
His body is more different from Jun's than I'd perhaps thought, but not in a bad way. I already knew Jun was skinny for an SD13, so Souji weighs a bit more due to his thicker body. Souji's taller too, by a solid inch or so. Sorry Jun XD Anyway, the Volks sculpt really is gorgeous. LOVE. And his expression is amazing! So concerned & serious sometimes, but then so happy from another angle. I love it.
Since it's been snowing outside (WTF Denver), his resin was really cold T____T
I plop down next to my couch and start dressing him. It's not HUGELY difficult, but I think I need to fold up his kimono which is like "SHIT NO."
萌え~~~~! 大~大~大好き!!
Eventually I get him in his full outfit (I'm still not sure how the headband should work) and die a little at the cute.
DEAD FROM CUTE. I don't think I can replicate that Shinsengumi jacket and do it justice, 'cause it's gorgeous and lined and wow. Um, sorry Jun, you get to be a civilian.
Speaking of Jun-kun, the poor guy is kicked out of his chair (the only SD-sized furniture I own) and has to chill in the fuzzy beanbag chair for the time being. And I haven't even put buttons on his shirt yet. T__T He hates me now, I know it. At least he's getting to watch TV.
Kaorin, who is little, can fit most anywhere, so it's not a big deal for him. He's still not letting go of his Flag model. (I just adore how Souji looks so "... h-haa" about it.) They're both Aries by box-opening date, so I hope they get along ♥
I tried some of Jun's clothes on Souji (Jun: "-_- my chair and my clothes?") and he looks too sweet in modern stuff too. The pants I made for Jun fit Souji poorly around the waist, but the shirts seem good. Yay :)
So there you go. MY SICKNESS HAS SPREAD. Now I'm in the Volks cult. :D
I really need to get more doll furniture now. x_x Tiny tatami floor, anyone...?
