Good Morning
The Endeavours Documentary Film Festival, Call For Entries Opens today. The festival will screen documentary films about people and their lives. The festival provides filmmakers with a high quality platform to screen their work to Asian audiences who are amongst the world’s most avid film-goers.
The festival offers five categories for filmmakers to enter and will be judged by an independent jury comprising of four highly respected, award winning creatives based in Singapore. They include author, Shehan Karunatilaka, documentary editor Genevieve Lee, co-founder of The Gunnery music and sound design studio, Azmi Jaffar and documentary filmmaker and producer Risa Okamoto.
The five award categories in the Endeavours’ festival are:
Best Documentary
Best Short Documentary
Best Asian Film
Best International Film
The Emerging Filmmaker Documentary Competition
Alongside the more traditional awards, the Emerging Filmmaker competition is targeted at developing locally based filmmakers. The winner of this category will be awarded with 20 hours of post-production services for their next documentary at The Gunnery, one of Singapore’s leading sound design studios and 20 hours of colour grading at Phushia Post Production.
At the heart of the Endeavours festival is the desire to encourage international filmmakers to showcase their art in the region to an increasingly appreciative and sophisticated Asian audience, whilst at the same time helping to promote the region’s established filmmakers and to help develop and nurture local filmmakers.
The Call For Entries will close on 31 January 2013 and filmmakers can learn more about the festival and conditions of entry by visiting www.endeavoursdocufilmfest.com
The Endeavours Documentary Film Festival is sponsored by The Arts House, Epic Communications, The Gunnery, The Local and Phushia Post Production.
We welcome you to Endeavours and hope to screen your work.
I the meantime please spread the word.
Best regards
The Endeavours Team
